Friday morning -

After breakfast at the hotel, some stayed at or near the hotel to rest and pack.

Others went around Irig.

And a few went to Novi-Sad. Ryan Woebkenberg arranged for a van that took some of us there. Those who went on the van were Rysn, his wife Amy, and Katie, as well  as Rod Shafer and his wife Marie, Caleb and Don Boe, Todd Schweim, and myself.

The drive was mostly along a narrow winding road that went over the mouintian seen in the bakcground on S3A Parachute photos.

In Novi-Sad, the Boes and Todd went off as a group till it was time to meet up later. The rest of us did a bit of the tourist-thing, shopping-thing, and so forth. We also tried to find a Hobby Shop, a fine traditiion of many US Teams, which are often hit or miss adventures. It turned out to be a big miss.

No, we were not lost.... we just did not know where we were (but we had a basic GPS "bread crumb trail" to get back if we needed to).

Much later we ran across a semi-hobby shop, that specialized  mostly in low end and a few mid-range electric R/C models and some die-cast models. Rod and Ryan both got a cheapie indoor R/C model.

We met back up and took the van back to the hotel.

Friday night -

And then,  finally, the banquet.

I will let photos mostly speak for themselves for the banquet
(What happens in Irig, stays in Irig....).

I will report on the overall champions,
based on the combined results for all the events flown.

Champion Junior was Alexey Lutiy of Russia.

Champion Senior was Antonio Mazzario

Champion Junior Team was from Poland.

Champion Senior Team was from Russia.

Tomorrow (Saturday), we leave at noon on a bus for Belgrade. Most will stay overnight, then fly home Sunday.  Maybe even go for round two of Hobby Shop searching Saturday afternoon.

I will have another report on Saturday.
